Weekend Getaway

Happy Monday loves!! I hope y’all had a really great weekend!!

My parents are part of a timeshare “club” – I guess that’s what you call it? – and they had booked this past weekend at Summit Resort in Laconia, NH. Last minute, they ended up not being able to use it so they asked if we wanted to go, so off we went!

We live so close to the lake regions in NH, but we never go there! I’m more of a beach person than a lake person, and we don’t do any winter activities 😉 soooo, we had never thought about it. But it was a really fun weekend, and we had a great time!! We would definitely go back!

We stayed at the Summit Resort and while the photos on their site look a bit outdated, I was pleasantly surprised with our suite!

We had no plans other than to swim in the pool, and rest and eat – sounds like a great weekend, right?!

I was so excited when I walked into our (huge) suite and saw that it had been completely remodeled, because let’s be honest – the pictures on their site were a little scary! We had two bedrooms and two full baths. Sliding doors from the master and the living room, out onto a deck with a picnic table and a view of the outdoor pool.

It was the fishing derby weekend so most of the restaurants in Laconia were packed, so we drove a few miles further and found a super yummy Mexican restaurant called “El Jimador” in Belmont. It wasn’t crowded, our server was very friendly and the food and drinks were delish!

It’s been almost six months since Gracie has been in a pool, so I wasn’t sure if she was going to be excited or nervous – but she is a little water baby for sure! She had no fear, and as soon as she saw the pool from the lobby kept yelling over and over “swimming! in! pool!” and asked non-stop to go back to the pool. She had so much fun!

Meanwhile, after we swam and while I tried to change, she decided she wanted to hide inside the locker 😉

Sunday morning we went to a great breakfast place called Kitchen Cravings, in Gilford. It’s right next to the local airport, hence all the planes on the wall! Such a cute little place, with really yummy food!

Sitting in traffic on the way home, I was so grateful to have an iPad with episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse already downloaded :) And how sweet is she holding my hand? love her so!

Now, if there was only a fairy that would finish unpacking and doing all our laundry!
